Summary
|
Ak-rev was a Weequay musician, an orphan from the streets of his world's capital, Al-Campur. He had been brought up by monks in a monastery devoted to the god of thunder, Am-Shak. It was there Ak-rev discovered the two great loves of life - drums and and fighting. The drumming came from an obvious source - the instruments were used in the thunderous worship of Am-Shak, and A-rev was natural. The fighting, particularly with vibroblades, also came naturally - the young Weequay fought regularly with street gangs roaming Al-Campur, when he could sneak away from the diligent monks. In the end, one monk decided to train Ak-rey in the martial arts of the Am-Shak monastery.If he had hoped to temper Ak-rev's aggressive nature with discipline, the monk failed. As soon as he was old enough, Ak-rev left the monastery. Clanless, the young man fought for money in the arenas of Al-Campur's criminal underworld. Giving money regularly to the monastery, Ak-rev was able to continue with his drumming. Jabba the Hutt heard the Weequay during a business trip and offered him a job. When Ak-rev's martial abilities come to the Huff's attention, the Weequay joined Jabba's palace guard. Later, he became drum master. Though Ak-rev wasn't on board of Jabba's barge when it was destroyed, he was thought to have been killed when his speeder was ambushed by Tusken Raiders days later. Read more... |
