Ranna Tao'Ven was a Twi'lek female who lived in the village of Kalikori on the planet Tython during the Flesh Raider uprising. She was the daughter of Matriarch Sumari. Together with scout chief Moorint, Ranna often helped her mother run the community.
After Flesh Raider forces attacked the Jedi Outpost at the Snarls, the Jedi Order decided to investigate the reasons behind the incursion and offered their cooperation to the Pilgrims in exchange for information they had. When the Padawan to Jedi Master Orgus Din agreed to deal with Flesh Raiders' weapon caches, Moorint opted for destroying the weapons, but Ranna suggested that it should be brought back to the Pilgrims to help them fight back the raiders.
After becoming a de facto Matriarch when her mother became terminally ill, she informed Jedi Master Orgus Din of the Flesh Raiders command base in the Tythos Ridge mountains that her scouts had discovered.
