| "Another beautiful day on Ord Mantell! You excited, kid? Nervous? You know, you're the first new entry to Havoc Squad in some time."Bex Kolos to MeteorDuring the Separatist Crisis, Meteor, a sergeant of the Republic Special Forces Division, was recruited in Havoc Squad. Upon arrival in orbit around the planet Ord Mantell and destroying the pursuing ship, the shuttle, carrying Meteor, fought through the ongoing space battle between the Separatist fleet and the Republic Navy. Destroying the attacking shuttlecraft, the shuttle safely entered the atmosphere of Ord Mantell and, escorted by two Republic starfighters, landed at the landing pad on the outskirts of the Drelliad village.Meteor and a group of Republic troopers set foot on Mantellian ground. Meteor was welcomed with a snappy salute by Lieutenant Bex Kolos, also known as Gearbox, a member of Havoc Squad just as he disembarked. Meteor was then ordered to enter a Manka-class APC that was about to depart to a Republic outpost called Fort Garnik, where Meteor was supposed to meet up with the rest of their new unit. Inside the APC, Kolos introduced himself and briefed Meteor about their objective on the planet. A powerful bomb, called the ZR-57, was stolen by Mantellian separatists after shooting down a Republic ship that was carrying it. The weapon being capable of massive destruction, the mission to recover it was given to the elite unit Havoc Squad.At this time, the Separatists launched an assault on the Drelliad village. Coming in from the shore, they disembarked from their airspeeders and entered the village from several sides simultaneously, seized important buildings, installed communication jammers and hijacked the controls of one of the anti-aircraft guns. Then they took up defense, covering all the entrances to the village.While the walker was moving near the Drelliad village, APC driver informed the passengers that he was detecting small-arms fire and enemy movements in all quarters. It was when APC was attacked by Separatists with two armor-piercing missiles. The second missile hit the cockpit, killing the driver, and, although none of the other troopers were killed, the APC was badly damaged. Gearbox assigned Meteor to disable the missile launchers in the village while he tried to fix the walker. Just before leaving the APC, Meteor saw an XS freighter, which, avoiding heavy fire from the ground, headed for the landing pad.Meteor headed towards the village, which was now under the complete control of the Separatists. A section of the western wall was completely destroyed, and a few Mantellian soldiers were hiding behind the barricades just outside the village. There, Meteor met with Sergeant Blyes, a unit commander of the 31st Recon, and a smuggler named Voidhound, whose XS freighter Meteor had seen earlier. Blyes explained that he had tried to alert the HQ at Fort Garnik using long-range communications and, failing to do so, even tried to send one of his troopers, but the scout was killed by one of the snipers in the hills surrounding the Drelliad village. Blyes asked Meteor and Voidhound to help him and destroy the jammers the Separatists had set up in the village. Meteor and Voidhound agreed, promising Blyes to deal with the Separatists in the village while they carried out their respective missions. They agreed to meet here again as soon as all the objectives were completed.Meteor and Voidhound quickly dealt with the jammers, and then Meteor went in search of launchers in the village. The Meteor located and destroyed three crates containing launchers and missiles, killing the Separatist heavy gunners and others guarding them. Meteor contacted Gearbox via holo and reported the success. Gearbox admitted that he wasn't able to fix the APC, he planned to stay there and salvage all the goodies off this wreck before someone else did. He ordered Meteor to go to Fort Garnik on foot and report to Commander Tavus, the leader of Havoc Squad, in the Republic Command Center. Meteor returned to Sergeant Blyes and settled down to wait for the Voidhound to arrive. When Voidhound arrived, the two headed towards Fort Garnik. On their way to the fort, Meteor and Voidhound worked together once more, clearing the road of the Separatist snipers. Upon arrival to Fort Garnik, Meteor and Voidhound reported their success to Commander Vray and then parted ways. Sergeant entered the Command Center, where they were approached by a private named Farn, who introduced himself telling the sergeant that it was an honor to meet a member of the legendary Havoc Squad. He asked why Havoc Squad had been sent to Ord Mantell, but Meteor politely refused to disclose the mission, saying only that it was top secret. Farn was not offended, and Meteor headed to the operations command hall. | ||
