Summary

	During the Cold War era the Galactic Republic undertook the Taris Resettlement Initiative, an effort to restore the ruined world of Taris that had been devastated three centuries prior. The goal of the program was to turn the post-apocalyptic swampland that dominated the planet into a habitable Republic world. The Taris Resettlement Authority was established by the Republic Senate to spearhead this initiative, and Leontyne Saresh was duly appointed as its governor.	See also Republic Senate The Cold War
