They arrived at the staging area and made a quick reconnaissance. The area was heavily guarded by both Force users and regular Dread Guard troops. Operatives counted at least six troop transports, about ten thrashers

. They decided to sabotage the transports to prevent the launch and kill as many commanders as possible. The operatives attacked, pushing through the Dread Guard from one transport to another, leaving dozens of dead soldiers in their wake. Commanders and elite commandos, crew members and technicians tried to stop their advance, only increasing the number of victims. Soon all six transports were put out of action, and more than fifty Dread Guard soldiers perished, many of their commanders among them.
Mission completed, the operatives returned back to the camp. Sergeant Trila said they had secured the route to the Fortress, and DX-M2 confirmed that the codes he extracted earlier from the computer core were operational. To the horror of the operatives, they saw that Trila was wearing a shock collar. She explained that since she had failed to resist the Dread Masters' influence several times already, she would put on a collar and ordered Dee-Ex to put her down and take command in case she became unstable again. The operatives were able to convince her that she needed to be confident and set an example for her troops - without that, the mission would be failed and everyone would die. She reluctantly agreed and forced herself to remove the collar.
She told the operatives that her team would be guarding the speeder route for as long as it took, but that it already took almost all of their manpower and they would not be able to assist when the operatives entered the fortress. The Dread Masters tried to influence the operatives and Trila again by projecting the thoughts that the operatives would fail and die, but they ignored them and even offered them to surrender in return, causing the Masters' avatars to disappear. Dee-Ex wished for the Force be with them, and the operatives drove to the fortress to finally end the war or die trying.
