Elin GarzaYes, Senator, that's exactly what I'm saying. I can assure you that I've seen no shred of proof supporting these rumors of a defection within SpecForce division.ArnusGeneral, surely you understand, we need more than just your assurances in a matter of this-Elin GarzaMy assurances are what you're getting, Senator. Elin GarzaImpeccable timing, Lieutenant. I'm General Garza. It's good to finally meet you in person.MeteorIt's an honor to be here, General.Elin GarzaI have to congratulate you - surviving the ordeal on Ord Mantell took skill and courage. I'm impressed.MeteorThank you, General.Elin GarzaSergeant Jorgan, I'm pleased to have you with us as well. General Vander holds you in very high regard.Aric JorganThank you, sir. But General Vander has an odd way of showing his "regard."Elin GarzaVander did the best he could for you, Sergeant. And I'd say a position in the Republic's most decorated Special Forces squad is doing very well indeed. It's regrettable about Tavus and the others. I knew they were upset, but I never imagined they would be so foolish as to defect. Nevertheless, whatever your former squad-mates once were to us, they are now extremely dangerous enemies of the Republic.MeteorProtecting the Republic from its enemies is our duty.Elin GarzaI'm glad I can depend on you to do what's necessary, Lieutenant.Aric JorganSo, let's load up a strike shuttle and hunt Tavus and the rest of them down like the scum they are.Elin GarzaI would very much like to give that order, Sergeant, but I'm afraid we've discovered some new information since you left Ord Mantell. Things would be bad enough if we only had Havoc to deal with, but- Havoc did not defect to the Empire alone. Our intelligence shows that hundreds of other Special Forces soldiers have followed Tavus and defected to the Empire. In short, Lieutenant, we have a catastrophe on our hands.MeteorI can't believe so many soldiers could abandon our cause.Elin GarzaIt's a dire situation. But we aren't out of options yet. We have one powerful asset that Tavus and his followers haven't planned for: you. Tavus believes you're dead on Ord Mantell, and that Havoc's defection is still a secret. Right now, Tavus will be securing his armament and supplies. We need to cut those supply lines while he isn't expecting it.MeteorTavus is with the Empire, now. Wouldn't they keep him supplied?Elin GarzaThe Sith Empire welcomes our defectors, but they're not going to equip men whose loyalty isn't proven. Tavus will need other sources. In the past, when Havoc needed supplies outside of the normal Republic channels, they purchased the items from underworld groups here on Coruscant. I have units working to cut off these underworld sources, but two organizations are proving difficult: the Black Sun and the Migrant Merchants' Guild.MeteorCan these groups really stand against us?Elin GarzaThese aren't simple gangs, Lieutenant. They control large territories and extensive resources. This isn't law enforcement. I want these people shut down, eliminated. You'll begin with the Migrant Merchants' Guild. Our intelligence indicates that they're supplying Tavus with a full platoon of advanced war droids. Your mission, in the broad strokes, will be to locate the droid shipments going to Tavus and destroy them.MeteorWhat if we let the shipments go? Then we could follow them straight to Tavus.Elin GarzaI can't risk the possibility that these items could fall into Tavus's hands. One of my people, Corporal Garrum, will meet you outside the Migrant Merchants' Guild's territory with the full operational details. These missions are critical, Lieutenant. Our future success or failure is contingent on how well-supplied Tavus and his followers are.MeteorAfter Ord Mantell, these thugs won't even be a challenge.Elin GarzaDon't underestimate these people. There's a reason why they've been so successful up to now, and it isn't their charming personalities. I'll be observing your operations from here through your armor-cam. Good luck, Lieutenant - dismissed. |
After Commander Tavus and the rest of the Havoc squad defected to the Sith Empire, Meteor was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and placed in charge of rebuilding Havoc Squad. Aric Jorgan was assigned as the squad's first new member. They were ordered by General Vander to report to General Garza on Coruscant.Meteor and Jorgan travelled from Ord Mantell to the Republic Fleet's Carrick station to board a shuttle to Coruscant. Upon arriving at Carrick Station, they decided to travel to Coruscant aboard the transport Esseles instead of the regular shuttle. En route to Coruscant, the transport was attacked by the Imperials, and Meteor, along with Jorgan and other operatives, repelled the attack and saved the transport from being destroyed. While checking in at customs terminal as they were instructed, Meteor and Jorgan had a brief conversation about Jorgan's past - how he did his officer training on Coruscant before he was deployed to Ord Mantell. Jorgan told Meteor that at the time Coruscant was still under reconstruction after it was attacked by Imperials. Jorgan expressed his disappointment at the fact, that the Imperials were able to raid Coruscant as if it was some backwater planet in the Outer Rim planet. Meteor and Jorgan agreed that it was a psych attack, the Empire didn't plans to seize Coruscant because they didn't bring the numbers to hold, the goal of the whole raid was to get people thinking that nobody was safe. Finishing their registration, they went to the Senate Tower where the office of General Garza had been located. Near the exit of the spaceport they met with other operatives and together met with Anitol Rosspar, who asked them to meet with Senator Vanara Kayl at the Senate Tower as soon as possible. Later they met with the senator and agreed to assist in subjugation of an armed insurrection instigated by Migrant Merchants' Guild.Upon arriving at Garza's office, they witnessed a holocom conversation between Senator Arnus and the general about rumors about the defections from SpecForces, which Garza dismissed as unfounded and closed the conversation. The general congratulated them on their success on Ord Mantell. She welcomed Jorgan for joining Havoc squad, adding that General Vander held him in very high regard. Jorgan thanked her, pointing out that General Vander had an odd way of showing his "regard." Garza countered by saying that Vander did the best he could for Jorgan, adding that joining a Havoc squad was not the harshest punishment. She expressed regret for Tavus, adding that she knew they were upset, but she never thought they would be foolish enough to defect, and now they have become very dangerous enemies of the Republic. Jorgan offered to load a strike shuttle and hunt down Tavus and the rest of the former Havoc Squad. Garza said she would like to give such an order, but Tavus and the others were only part of the problem. She said that intelligence showed that hundreds of other SpecForce soldiers followed Tavus and defected to the Empire. She went on, explaining that while the Sith Empire welcomed Republic defectors, they were not going to equip men whose loyalty wasn't yet proven - Tavus would need other sources, and when Havoc squad in the past needed supplies outside of the normal Republic channels, they purchased the items from underworld groups here on Coruscant. Most of the underworld dealers had been dealt with already, but two organizations were proving difficult - the Black Sun and the Migrant Merchants' Guild, they controlled large territories and extensive resources. The General ordered to begin with the Migrant Merchants' Guild, because the intelligence indicated that they were supplying Tavus with a full platoon of advanced war droids - the mission was to locate the droid shipments and destroy them. Meteor suggested that instead of destroying the shipments, track them to Tavus, but Garza disagreed, explaining that she couldn't risk the items falling into Tavus' hands. The general directed Meteor and Jorgan to Corporal Garrum, who awaited them outside the Migrant Merchants' Guild's territory, with the full operational details. Jorgan and Meteor acknowledged the order and left the general's office. | ||
