During the Republic assault Securing the Landing Zone Event Cold War (3653BBY - 3642BBY) on the main Separatist Mantellian Separatists Organization Planetary and Sector base of the island Avilatan, Vandal served was under the command of Captain Xuss Xuss (Human) Character Minor Characters (TOR) . Stationed at the Republic staging camp near the mountain, Vandal met with a team of Republic operatives Republic Operatives Organization Temporary Unions who have been sent by Xuss to assist. Vandal told the operatives that they had the Separatist stronghold in their sights and the orders were to secure a landing pad and establish a secondary insertion point for the assault. He wanted the operatives to shut down the security fields around the landing pad and then disable the defense guns so Republic troop shuttles could land. Before the operatives left, he told the operatives that he had an uneasy feeling, because in his opinion the separatists were not supposed to hold out this long. During the mission he was in constant contact with the shuttle pilots and after the operatives secured the landing pad, Vandal called the shuttles and they arrived at the landing pad seconds later.
